[ABSOLUTE SOUND]
I love sound as much as I love music — and noise, too. But do we really need to make such distinctions? Physical waveforms which move molecules around in the environment, right?

While I stripped back some of the fuzz on Absolute Sound — though a vibrant palette of distortion remains — I pushed melody and form a bit more upfront (even some beats, too). But all in service of the drone.

My modest collection of synths and noisemakers continue to serve as my main creative instruments, yet I find sonic inspiration everywhere. Field recordings from my neighborhood, old cassettes, found sound from the random public — and of course, plenty of shortwave transmissions — are all embedded in the drone.

[In fact, on Existential Me, I even managed to weave in samples from an interview I conducted with the late-great Genesis P-Orridge (Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV) in 1998 where he discussed working with William S. Burroughs.]

Sound has a powerful emotional effect on humans — more than we probably realize. It’s all around us. Every day. Listen to it. React. And connect.
